Sam Oosterhoff is the MPP for Niagara West and the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education.
Having grown up in the Niagara Peninsula, Sam has always had a deep appreciation for faith, family, and service to one’s community. Since his first election in 2016, Sam has been working hard to represent the interests, priorities, and concerns of Niagara West families and job creators.
On June 29, 2018, Sam was appointed Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education. In that role, he has taken leadership on areas such as Anti-human trafficking policy, French-language education, student transportation, and educational agencies.
Sam’s first Private Member’s Bill became law in December 2020. The Compassionate Care Act mandates the creation of a palliative care framework in Ontario.
He also served as a Member of the Standing Committee on the Legislative Assembly and Member of the Select Committee on Emergency Management Oversight.
Sam is happily married to Keri. Their son Sullivan was born in January 2021.
Sam is incredibly proud to represent his home community of Vineland, and all of the hard-working families of Niagara West as their MPP. He continues to work hard to ensure a better future for all Ontarians.
